Migrant and Municipality Networks
Melissa is a network for female migrants and refugees living in Greece. It aims at promoting the rights of these people, as well as bringing them closer with the society they live in. For more info visit their website: https://melissanetwork.org/
The Cities Network for Integration (CNI) is an inter-municipal network of Greek municipalities that aim at promoting social inclusion of migrants and refugees. To date, 18 municipalities have joined the Cities Network for Integration: Athens, Agios Dimitrios, Chania, Delta, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Kalamaria, Karditsa, Katerini, Larissa, Livadeia, Neapoli – Sykies, Nea Filadelfeia / Nea Chalkidona, Piraeus, Tilos, Trikala, and Tripoli. They aim at informing and providing services to third-country nationals, as well as developing networks for the beneficiaries to promote their social inclusion. The Greek Forum of Migrants (GFM) is a network of migrant organizations and communities in Greece. Its aim is to integrate the migrants into the society through their participation in various initiatives. These Councils promote the active participation in the society. In each Municipality, a Council for the Integration of Migrants and Refugees is established as an advisory body, aiming at boosting the social inclusion of migrants and refugees at local level. 15 Greek municipalities have already proceeded to the establishment of this Council.
